Terraform
M. Pravat
Dates
January 18, 2025 - January 25, 2025
M. Pravat's new solo exhibition 'Terraform' explores the dynamic relationship between the built environment and the natural world. In this series of works presented for the first time, Pravat brings together a diverse range of materials – bricks, stone, pigment, dust, paintings, LED lights and found objects.
Pravat's sculptures and installations are fragments of the urban landscape, evoking the perpetual state of incompleteness, under-construction and transformation that characterizes all cities. 'Terraform' suggests that it is not just cities that are undergoing constant change, but the entire planet. Each artwork, with its intricate network of materials, acts as a map for a future world – a world that is increasingly shaped by unrelenting geo-engineering, urban development projects and devastating climate crises. Pravat invites us to consider the planet and to imagine the possibilities for new integrations and reorganizations of the elements that surround us.
